Angela Was Cut From American Idol

Well it’s a sad day. Yesterday the last of American Ido’s Hollywood week aired and we saw Angela Martin on the show for the last time. Baring any unforeseen twist of the American Idol producers it looks like Angela will not be gracing the stage anymore.

I swear it’s a crying shame too because I believe Angela Martin deserved this way more than a few of the other ladies. It was painful to see her dreams come to an end especially with all she’s been through.

I’m going to continue holding out for a miracle that her mother is found, her daughter stays healthy, and that Angela makes it big one day soon. Maybe we can even get lucky and see her on the American Idol stage in the coming weeks as an alternate or a twist or even as a promotional event.

As much as American Idol is fun sometimes it’s cruelly unfair. I wish all the best for Angela Martin and hope to see her life turn out good for her in the end. I also do not intend on pouting. I enjoy American idol for what it is and I look forward to seeing who is crowned the next American Idol now that Angela is not there.

I’m thinking Ashley Rodriguez… hmmm.

Angela Martin Made The American Idol Top 24

This week we American Idol fans were finally able to see some fantastic singing from Angela Martin and we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that she made it to the end of Hollywood Week. American Idol editors obviously decided to continue keep Angela Martin low profile in the show as they barely gave her any air time still.

Despite not seeing much of Angela Martin during Hollywood week this year we did get a minute or so of footage from her and a number of brief references and a short interview of her on Tuesday’s telecast from the show. Angela Martin was in room two of three where she sat against the wall huddled up clearly looking emotionally drained.

In the brief Angela Martin audition interview, after making it to the last cut of Hollywood week, Angela referred to everything she’s been going through without actually saying what it was. She was clearly emotional but reserving her true thoughts.

For those who haven’t heard elsewhere during the American Idol Hollywood week taping Angela Martin mom was the center of all of her thoughts as was probably her daughter. Since the taping Angela’s had a number of media blitz’s where she’s been trying to shed light on the missing person investigation of her mother but obviously during the show she was still simply trying to deal with the emotion internally.

On Wednesday night America Idol finally revealed the last of the top 24 Idol finalists and it’s going to be great to see Angela Martin in the round of 24 competing on the big stage for the voting audience.

I think it’s great that American Idol has been accommodative of her and I believe that not revealing her ordeal on the air has helped keep Angela Martin out of the media spotlight. Everyone knows that people who have sad stories and get lots of air time before making the top 24 have an unfair advantage so keeping this low profile on American Idol tapings is more fair for all the other contestants while simultaneously keeping the media circus at bay.

Next week when American Idol’s round of 24 contestants kicks off hopefully Angela Martin will be more emotionally stable and hopefully we can see her sing to the best of her abilities. Good luck Angela and congratulations making the top 24 on American Idol.

Did Angela Martin Advance Through Hollywood Week?

The big question all of us Angela Martin fans have been asking this week is did Angela Martin advance through Hollywood week? We didn’t see her on Tuesday at all and they didn’t feature her on Wednesday either. In fact Angela Martin was never even mentioned on American Idol this week at all.

Angela Martin Passed Group Round

Despite this however I know that Angela Martin did pass through group round in Hollywood week because during the Idol Group Round Auditions they showed a group of three singing for about three seconds. They sounded great and then they were shown celebrating afterward. One of these girls singing was Angela Martin and that can only mean the Angela Martin advanced past group auditions and will be on air next week for the final cuts to the top 24 of American Idol.

I firmly believe that Angela Martin is getting next to no air time this season because of the tragedy she is going through seeing as those her mother is missing and that she got so much air time over the last two seasons. In my opinion we’ll start seeing a lot more of Angela Martin on American Idol this coming week.

Did Angela Martin Get Cut From Hollywood Week?

Angela Martin was not seen for even a single second on the first episode of American Idol Season 9 Hollywood Week. Does this mean she dropped out again?

I guess we won't know about Angela Martin for at least another episode or two but the following was quoted from a Fox representative as reported by the Chicago Tribune:

As for John Park of Northbrook, Angela Martin of Chicago and Jermaine Sellers from Joliet, a Fox representative would not officially say whether those contestants made it to the next round, though Park was seen celebrating at the end of the episode. The Fox representative did say that, regarding the men from the Chicago area, "neither was cut" on Tuesday and that viewers should "tune in" later to see if Martin made it.

The Hollywood round continues through next week, and Season 9's Top 24 contestants will be revealed on Feb. 17.

How's that for ambiguous. I think it's a tough call but my money is on her being in the show. I think they don't want to give Angela Martin more air time than everyone else seeing as though she is going through hard times and has had lots of air time in past seasons.

I guess we'll see if Angela Martin was cut from American Idol season 9 Wednesday night.

This week starts the Hollywood week audition round for American Idol season 9. Angela Martin is likely going to get a fair amount of air time on the show because of the recent event regarding her mother who by the way still hasn’t been found.

Despite the misfortune and setting aside the thoughts and prayers for Angela Martin’s family we as fans are looking forward to hearing more from Angela as she graces the American Idol Stage for more auditions.

Hollywood Week for Angela Martin

The last two years Angela Martin American Idol auditions have been cut short due to tragedy and this season it appears that for now this is not the case. Being Angela Martins third time making it to Hollywood and considering she made the top 50 last year before having to go home… and considering Angela Martin received a standing ovation in the Hollywood week auditions in season eight from the judges and contestants we should be in for a real treat as Angela sings in her last season on American Idol.

Most people understand what American Idol Hollywood week is all about but in case you don’t it’s where the judges cut the audition pool of American Idol contestants daily until 20-24 contestants remain. Angela Martin | Rett Syndrome

I've read more about Angela Martin lately and in her past American Idol auditions talked about her kid who has Rett Syndrome. That means that her daughter can't walk or talk. Explaining to the judges she said that when her daughter was born, there weren't any complications as sh got older she started to suffer from seizures.

Angela goes on to explain what the American Idol competition is about to her. Winning American Idol for her isn't about her becoming famous, it's about allowing her to daughter the kind of medical care she needs.

It's clear that, to Angela Martin American Idol means more than it does for others. She won't be taking this last chance on American Idol lightly. She will be great in Hollywood week and as far as she can go in the top 20. Especially since this is Angela's last opportunity to audition for American Idol and the fact that this is her third time on American Idol I expect her to do quite well... maybe even win American Idol.

Rett Syndrome

As Angela Martin's daughter with Rett Syndrome continues to grow and continues to cope with life time the time is right for Angela to become a star on season 9. Surely Angela will be giving it her all. American Idol is hard enough as it is, just on your own. But having to perform at such a high level knowing that your daughter has Rett Syndrome and your mother is missing has to be hard. It will be interesting to see if Angela Martin can overcome these circumstances on American Idol Season 9.

Nobody knows if Angela Martin will be the next American Idol. We do know however that there will be a huge fan base rooting for Angela and her daughter with Rett Syndrome.

A quick update to my last post on Angela Martin's Mom.

Angela Martin was recently interviewed by People magazine while Anglea was seemingly at Hollywood Week. By the way if you don't know who Angela is check Angela Martin Bio and then continue on here. If there's any doubt that Angela will be singing in Hollywood Week at American idol this is a one hundred percent clue that she will be.

In this blurb from the interview referring to the support she is getting from other contestants and their parents while at Hollywood Week Angela seems like she is suffering but strong and moving on with her life. It also appears that even though Angela Martin's mom is missing she's still spending ample time in Hollywood which is indicative of her advancing through the opening rounds.

We'll have to see when Hollywood Week airs. In the mean time here is some of what Idol's Angela Martin had to say to People.

Angela Martin Interview

While the search continues back home, Martin told People.com that she leans on her fellow contestants for support while in Hollywood.

"The mothers, the other contestants, everyone has really, really held me up," she said. "They have told me they are praying for me. I mean, the mothers of the contestants that I'm in a competition with have been really supportive. I thank God today, because I kind of lost it a lot, seeing the mothers and fathers here. But I'm pretty tough.

"Music heals my soul and it heals my heart and I tell everyone, I have a Band-Aid on my heart right now and I don't know if it is going to fall off soon," she added. "But it's keeping me whole and it's my music."

American Idol's Angela Martin's Mom Is Missing

This missing mom story has been circulating around the news for a while now and I thought it was worth mentioning here on this blog. Angela Martin's mom has been missing since the holiday's.

This is noteworthy aside from the seriousness of the situation in that Angela has had to drop out of the last two Idol Auditions rounds due to personal tragedy and unforeseen circumstances. Not to mention she struggles as her daughter has Rett Syndrome. This Being her last year eligible reports are n saying the despite Angela Martin's mom being missing she is still dedicated to singing and pushing through Hollywood Week. Her "American Idol" dreams could fall prey a personal nightmare - again...

Now, with a third and final chance at realizing her dream, tragedy has struck again: Martin's mother was reported missing after Christmas.

The 28-year-old's mom, Viola Brown, was going to visit Martin's older sister after the holidays, but never arrived, according to People.com. On New Year's Eve, her car was found abandoned near the south Chicago suburbs of Riverdale and Dixmoor.

"We still haven't heard anything," Martin told People.

"We haven't stopped looking," she said. "We've been out in the cold, and before I left to go to Hollywood, we were looking."

Angela Martin, who has a young daughter, remains dedicated to singing for the "Idol" judges in Hollywood while her family continues the search, and she has found support from fellow contestants.

"Everyone has really held me up," she said. "They have told me they are praying for me."

Obviously lets all hope and pray that things turn out OK for Angela and the rest of the Martin family. We all pray that the Angela Martin mom cloud lifts as Viola finally returns home. Additionally lets give Angela Martin all the love we can by voting her through Amrican Idol!
